Private Tuition & Mentoring
Cam has over 25 years in the photographic industry with vast experience in studio and location lighting, camera techniques and editing for stills photography. For the last 8 years he has been running photography workshops and providing private tuition in many aspects of photography but it is his core strength of photographic lighting where most people seek his expertise.
Cam is available for one-on-one or small group tuition sessions tailored to your specific learning needs. These can occur in Cam's studio at Woolloongabba, at your home studio within the Brisbane, Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast or Ipswich areas or another location of your choosing.
If you are thinking about purchasing or have just purchased some new lighting equipment and need help with the basics of setting up and using it, Cam is available to do just that. While Cam is an Elinchrom Ambassador, he has experience with most brands of lighting equipment, including both flash and LED styles.
Cam is also happy to discuss options for ongoing mentoring to help develop your skills over a longer period of time if you would like to cover many different topics that require multiple sessions.

I first met Cam at his Art of Nude Photography workshop in Ipswich. Cam started this workshop with a discussion of some issues that I think are really important such as ethical behavior, the difference between art and porn and appropriate publication of the work. He then took us through the detail of lighting setups and posing etc and gave us tons of time to shoot and develop our skills. I was hooked.
Since that time I’ve been a regular at his workshops and I have taken up his mentoring program with many one on one sessions both in the studio and outdoors. With Cam’s help my photography and my confidence have improved out of sight. In the studio I am confident about lighting and I am developing my own preferences for style. Outdoors I am more confident about how I am capturing the image and able to focus more on what image I am capturing. Also, I am now much more confident with models, including in directing them.
I feel like Cam has facilitated a great leap forward in my photography journey, guiding, but not limiting me. Cam is fantastic to work with. He is patient and communicates with exceptional clarity while setting people at ease. As a mentor, Cam is outstanding. He is highly available and always happy to help, even with the dumbest of things. I couldn’t recommend Cam’s workshops and mentoring highly enough.
